Elachee’s Middle School Summer Day Camp is for young people entering grades 6-8 in the fall. 

Summer Camp Overview

Camp Elachee 2017 offers nine weekly middle school camps May 30 to July 28, 2017.

Activities vary by camp week. Some camps are physically challenging, or may require specific equipment and gear. Among the exciting adventures campers may experience are visits from Elachee staff, special guest presenters and a unique evening program. Campers will enjoy an off-campus field trip or special overnight** adventure as part of each camp week.  
Middle School Camp Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (*extended hours for 4-day camp)
Middle School Camp Fees: $195 per child, per camp week 

  • Elachee members receive a $20 discount per child, per camp week. 
  • Pre-registration is required. Spaces are filled on a first-come basis. 
  • Extended Care Options: 
    • Option 1: Early Arrival Care, from 8-9 a.m., $20 per child, per camp week  
    • Option 2: After Camp Care, from 2-5:30 p.m., $50 per child, per camp week 
    • Option 3: Before and After Camp Care, $60 per child, per camp week

May 30–June 2: Camping 101*/**

*/**Special 4-day camp and overnight at Elachee, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Learn about extended outdoor camping and backpacking, then enjoy an overnight camping adventure.

June 5–9: Elachee Pioneers

Experience the lifestyle and activities of North Georgia's historic peoples by playing games, learning traditional music and crafts.

June 12–16: Archaeology/Time Travelers Week

Explore the world of dinosaurs, Egyptian pyramid builders and more by practicing the methods today's archaeologists use. 

June 19–23: Citizen Scientists

Conduct science and technology experiments galore! Work with local scientists and get involved with environmental conservation.

June 26–30: Extreme Water Week

Discover the properties of water, tour a water reclamation facility, and take part in International Mud Day.

July 3, 5–7: Elachee on the Road*

*Special 4-day camp, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Enjoy kayaking, adventure hikes and visiting a local zoo.

July 10–14: Creature Care 

Learn how to care for, feed and handle Elachee’s resident companions and crowd favorites, the creatures in the Nature Center's Live Animal Exhibit.

July 17–21: Wilderness Survival**

“SURVIVOR”-style ‘tribes’ compete in team building activities, learn how to set up a shelter, navigate the woods, and have an overnight adventure at Elachee.

July 24–28: Outdoor Adventures

Enjoy one last summer adventure before school starts by experiencing advanced tree climbing, mountain bike riding, orienteering and more!
